Pumpkin Pecan Waffles

Pumpkin Pecan Waffles

These pumpkin pecan waffles are crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and filled with warm pumpkin spice flavor and crunchy pecans. Topped with maple syrup, whipped cream, and a dusting of cinnamon, they’re the perfect cozy fall breakfast.

With each recipe that I post, I typically share a memory that inspires it. For this recipe, though, the memory isn’t really the inspiration. That is because this recipe is inspired by my favorite fall candle scent from Bath & Body Works.

One time, when I was in college, I was shopping around at BBW, likely because I had a coupon to use, and I kept walking past this area that smelled absolutely divine. I couldn’t figure out what it was, but I kept circling the store, coming back to that spot, and thinking, “What is that?” Finally, I figured out that they actually had one of the fall candles lit inside an open glass globe. I looked to see what scent it was, and immediately went to find that candle to buy. Of course, it was pumpkin pecan waffles.

I still buy that scent every year in at least one hand soap, but I’m going to need to pick up another candle. With the fall season, we’ve taken to lighting a candle after our nightly reset, and guess which one we’ve been burning. It has given me a craving for pumpkin waffles that I finally got the chance to satisfy. They are delicious and definitely worth trying out for at least one breakfast this fall.

Questions You May Have?

How long do I cook my waffles for?

Every waffle maker is different, so I would recommend checking the instructions for your specific waffle maker. For mine, it took 6 or 7 minutes for them to finish cooking at a medium heat setting.

What toppings go best with pumpkin pecan waffles?

I did the typical butter and maple syrup like I would do on a regular waffle, but them added more chopped pecans, whipped cream, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Other options could be cinnamon honey butter, powdered sugar, chocolate chips, caramel syrup, or anything else you can think of that would go well with pumpkin and pecan.

How should I store and reheat leftover waffles?

To store them, use an airtight container or ziploc bag, and keep them at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. To reheat, you can put them in the toaster or use a microwave.
