Everything I Baked in August 2026

As you will see in this list, August was definitely heavy on the peach desserts. I got a big box of peaches from the peach truck at the beginning of the month, so I needed to use them up before they went bad. I’m not sad about it, though, because peaches and peach desserts are delicious. I did bake some wonderful, non-peach goodies, as well, so it still felt like a well-rounded month. If you see anything in the list you’d like to make that doesn’t already have a posted recipe, let me know so I can send it to you ☺️

1. Peach Pie

Peach pie was one of the common ones my grandma would make and it’s actually the last pie of hers I ever got to have. You can read more about that and find the recipe here. The pie was delicious, of course.

2. Peach Bundt Cake

Since I needed to use up some peaches, I needed to choose some peach desserts to make. This bundt cake is one that I had made before, so I knew it was a good one to make. It’s a moist, buttery pound cake with bits of fresh peach. I did feel like it could have had more peach flavor to it, but the cake was still delicious. We wound up freezing some of this, which should keep for a month or so.

3. Classic Cheesecake with Strawberries

This cheesecake and berries combo was made to post – recipe here – and it turned out delicious. The cheesecake was slightly underdone, but still tasted amazing. I just need to adjust the time a little next time. The strawberries on top added a juicy, fruity flavor that was so nostalgic for me. This is definitely something I will make again.

4. Golden Citrus Ring Cake

This is a recipe I found in my grandma’s cookbook. She had saved it from a magazine clipping. It was so yummy! The cake was moist, and the flavors were bright. The icing on top was also delicious, bringing a lemon, citrusy tang to the sweetness of the orange that’s in the cake. I really enjoyed this! The recipe is posted here if you’re interested.

5. Salted Caramel Pretzel Cookies

I cannot begin to describe how good these cookies were. Honestly, I think they are some of the best I’ve ever made. This recipe takes a chocolate chip cookie and adds pretzel pieces and chunks of caramel. It’s the perfect mix of sweet and salty, crunchy and gooey. Try them out; you will not regret it. Recipe here.

6. Peach Ice Cream

I told you there were more peaches 🙃 I had previously posted strawberry ice cream inspired by my grandpa, but didn’t have his recipe. I found an ice cream recipe handwritten in my grandma’s cookbook after that, so I knew I needed to share it. It turned out very good, but I felt the peach flavor was not super strong. Recipe can be found here.

7. GF Rocky Road Cookies

Last minute, I decided to make some cookies to take to bible study. I was trying to just use what I had on hand, but also needed them to be gluten free. Because I had chocolate chips, walnuts, and marshmallows, I decided to do a rocky road cookie. I used a chocolate cookie recipe I had made before and added the inclusion to make them rocky road flavor. These were really good – jar worthy for sure!

8. GF Peach Upside Down Cake

Peach dessert number four, if you’re keeping count. This was another dessert I made for Bible study. I did sliced peaches with butter and brown sugar on the bottom, and then made a vanilla cake batter to go over it. It was a delicious cake and a huge hit. Personally, I felt it may have been too moist of a cake, but overall was still really tasty.

9. Homemade Bread

It’s actually been a little while since I made any bread, so I wanted to make a small boule to have with dinner. It was delicious, as always. The recipe I use is very simple and doesn’t require kneading, so it’s very easy to make. I need (knead? 😉) to get back to baking it more regularly.

10. S’mores Stuffed Cookie Bars

I ended August with a bang! These cookie bars were phenomenal. I made two batches of them to take to a church event, and there were none left. They are layered with chocolate chip cookie dough, graham crackers, marshmallow fluff, and more chocolate chip cookie dough. Then, they’re topped with a square of Hershey’s chocolate. I will definitely be making these again in the future.

This was another great month full of delicious desserts! Again, if you want any recipes that are not already posted, let me know. I am looking forward to September as the fall baking season begins. Keep a lookout for those recipe posts.
